First-level Description of Medieval Manuscripts: EAMMS/Digital Scriptorium

This definition of fields for first-level fields was agreed at a joint meeting of the Digital Scriptorium and EAMMS projects in New York in November 1997. Members of the MASTER consortium were present at this meeting. This and the following definition (used in the draft of MARC rules produced by Gregory Pass) will be used as the base for the MASTER discussions of the standard to take place in Paris 26/27 February. This discussion will itself produce a draft which will go the TEI workgroup meeting in Rome, March 1999.
