• Though the “State of the art” may always include XML, it may not always be limited to XML: we are in a phase (a moment of opportunity)
• TEI specifications
  • Son of ODD is important ... “literate programming”
  • Explore different schema languages, validation regimens
  • Documentation is more important than ever
• TEI and XML training
  • Don't compete with non-TEI XML (instead, encourage it)
  • But a TEI presentation / teaching / curriculum application would be a good thing
  • ...and TEI participants might stand to benefit from getting in on training XML apart from as well as with TEI...
• Application layers
  • transformations and stylesheets
  • target interfaces (search / query / editing / annotation etc.)
  ...should not be centralized?
• Community-building: awards for applications, documentation, best TEI heresy?
