The European Science Foundation (ESF) Standing Committee for the Humanities (SCH) is funding a bursary program to support the attendance of early career European researchers at the 2009 Conference and Members’ Meeting of the TEI Consortium. The conference's program committee will make up to six grants of at least €500 (reimbursed in US dollars by wire transfer to an awardee's bank account).
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be affiliated to European universities or research institutes in countries having agencies that are Member Organisations of the ESF.
- Actively participate in the conference: attend a workshop or present a paper, poster, or tool demo.
- At the time of the conference not have been in an established position for more than five years, excluding eligible career breaks for maternity and paternity leave, long-term illness, and national service.
Students, post-doctorate researchers, and lecturers within five years of their appointment, especially those attending a pre-conference workshop, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Requirements for grant recipients
Grant recipients must:
- Include the ESF logo and the following acknowledgement phrase in their poster or paper presentation: "Support from the Standing Committee for the Humanities (SCH) of the European Science Foundation made this paper/poster possible (http://www.esf.org/human)."
- Send the conference organizers (care of malte.rehbein@uni-wuerzburg.de) a post-conference report by December 15, 2009, including:
- a short description of the conference and/or workshop attended: topics covered, highlights of the event, reaction to presentations and discussions, and benefits gained from attending, especially in terms of opportunities for future collaboration.
- A description of any areas discussed at the conference which need attention at the European level.
- A digital copy of the final paper or poster with permission for the ESF to use the work in its mission to promote European science.
- Submit receipts for expenses.
